Privacy policy

Your games stay private.

Grandpa Games needs no account and has no ads or cross-app tracking. Gameplay stays on your device. Only a few clearly described features use the internet.

On your device

  • Points, unlocks, progress, settings, favourites, and recent games
  • Images you select for supported games
  • Processed purchase identifiers and entitlement flags
  • After gift-code use: your consent and a random installation ID

Deleting the app or its data normally removes these items. Local points and ordinary unlocks may be lost.

When the app connects

Promotion feed

Automatic, small request

The app checks a public promotion feed at startup and about every four hours. The server sees your IP address and standard request data, but not your points, unlocks, gameplay, random installation ID, or a user profile.

Gift-code check

Only when you choose it

After asking for consent, the app sends the code, random installation ID, app version and build, platform, and language over HTTPS. The server also sees your IP address. It receives no name, email, ad ID, contacts, location, points, or gameplay.

Why we keep a gift-code record

The redemption database keeps salted hashes of the code, installation ID, and IP address, plus the time, app version, platform, language, and reward.

  • Validate codes and enforce campaign limits
  • Stop the same code being used twice in one installation
  • Investigate abuse or technical errors
  • Count our own promotion results—never for ads or profiles

The raw code, installation ID, and IP address are not stored in the redemption database. Hosting logs may still contain request information. The random ID can change after reinstalling or clearing app data, so the duplicate check applies to one app installation—not to a named person or permanent device.

Delete a gift-code record

Records have no automatic expiry and remain until manually removed. Deleting the app does not delete a server record.

To request deletion, email robin.glauser@stiuvou.ch. Include the code, approximate date and time, and, if known, platform and app language. Do not send payment details.

Purchases and restoration

Apple or Google handles payment. Grandpa Games never sends card details or store receipts to the gift-code server.

  • Point packs and the permanent all-games entitlement are optional.
  • The app may keep processed purchase and entitlement flags locally.
  • Permanent purchases can restore on the same platform account.
  • Apple Family Sharing may apply; Google Family Library does not.
  • Purchases do not transfer between Apple and Google.

What we do not do

  • No developer account or personal profile
  • No advertising or third-party analytics SDKs
  • No cross-app tracking
  • No sale of personal data
